Bar Band Minimum Required Playlist

QuickImage Category Fun

Ok class, here's today's assignment. Assume you and some buddies have formed a band, and are trying to get some paying gigs. All of you are fairly skilled, but none of you have any real club experience. You're going to be playing bars, night clubs, and private parties. You need a playlist, but you're not well known enough to play your own stuff. What is the minimum set (25 only) of songs you need to know in order to be successful?

Post your answers (or a link to your answers) below. Have fun!

Gravatar Image3 - I only have time for one song, but it's a song I rarely hear bands cover...

867-5309 (Jenny) - Tommy Tutone

Gravatar Image4 - Okay, I went to a bar a couple of years ago and I swear this WAS their playlist!

Nice choices, can't improve on perfection!

Gravatar Image5 - I'll try and dig up the set lists from the band I played with 15 years ago. I know that only two of your songs were on our list: Smokin' In The Boy's Room, and Keep Your Hands To Yourself. We might have played Johnny B. Goode, too. Hard to remember. I'm sure we at least rehearsed it. And we also rehearsed Rock 'n Roll All Night, but it didn't make the cut. It never sounded right -- mainly because I had a tough time with the rhythm guitar chords that are supposed to lead the beat by a fraction of a count.

Gravatar Image6 - Skynrd- Free Bird, Gimme three Steps; Steve Miller- Jungle Love, Take the Money and Run (ooh, ooh, ooh!; John Cougar- Jack and Diane......oh I have lot's more but there is a few for ya! Love and miss you brother!Emoticon

1. Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd
2. Friend of the Devil - Grateful Dead
3. Never Been Rocked Enough - Delbert McClinton
4. Angel from Montgomery - John Prine/Bonny Rait
5. When the Levee Breaks - Led Zeppelin
6. Highway to Hell - AC/DC
7. Honky Tonk Women - Rolling Stones
8. Layla - Eric Clapton
9. Can't Find My Way Home - Blind Faith
10. That's What I Got - Sublime
11. Knocking on Heaven's Door - Bob Dylan
12. Little Wing - Jimmie Hendrix
13. Gimme Shelter - Rolling Stones
14. Seminole Wind - John Anderson
15. The Weight - The Band
16. Bad to the Bone - George Thorogood
17. Mexico - James Taylor
18. The Whipping Post - The Allman Brothers.
19. Behind Blue Eyes - The Who
20.Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner - Warren Zevon
21. Lawyers Guns and Money - Warren Zevon
22. Cinnamon Girl - Neil Young
23. Skating Away on the Thin Ice of a New Day - Jethro Tull
24. Gin and Juice - (The Gourds Bluegrass cover of Snoop Dog)
and
25. Freebird - Lynrd Skynrd since any place that two or more drunks are gathered together Freebird will be requested.

My list is probably a bit older and more acoustic than your list because that's how I roll.
