For Lotusphere 2007, I submitted one jumpstart and several regular session abstracts. These were:

• Custom Website Statistics with IBM Lotus Domino
• Accessibility for the Visually Impaired with IBM Lotus Domino
• Logging Techniques with IBM Lotus Domino
• AJAX This! -Learning AJAX in 2 hours.

Regarding these submissions, I received the following email earlier this week:

Thank you for submitting an abstract for consideration for Lotusphere 2007. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept your session submission. This year we received a record number of session submissions (the most since Lotusphere 99!), and are simply unable to accommodate all of them. We truly appreciate the amount of time and energy you put into writing your session proposal - this was a year of really tough decisions!

We truly thank you for your interest and we hope you will consider submitting again for Lotusphere 2008.

Bummer. I was truly looking forward to presenting again this year. I've heard (through the gossip vine) that there were over six hundred submissions this year. That's huge; but doesn't fully take the sting out of not being selected. Excuse me while I take a few minutes to pout (I'm a professional, but not that professional) about it.

There now. I feel much better. I will, of course, be submitting again for next year.
