My condolences go out to the family and relatives of James Doohan, who passed away yesterday morning.

When I was a child and would play "Star Trek" with my friends (yes, I was a geek even then), I always wanted to be Scotty. Mr. Doohan, when he played Scotty, made me believe the impossible could be real.
