Spanky's Place

It is a beautiful dark amber, without a hint or trace of cloudiness. The head is rich and creamy (not as thick as a stout, more like a cross between a pilsner and a porter). It has a warm, mellow flavor with a very mild hoppy bite at the end -not a bitter aftertaste, it is more like a memory of the hops.

It isn't the best beer I've ever brewed, but it's in the top 5. I think the next time I make a Scotch Ale, I'm going to carmelize it a bit more during brewing, and transfer it to the secondary fermenter a day earlier than I did with this one.
