Session Review: JMP104

QuickImage Category LS 2005

I just finished Team-TSG's jumpstart session JMP104 - Java for the IBM Lotus Domino Developer, and I don't think I can do it justice here, but I'm going to try.

This session was co-presented by Tom Duff and Joe Litton, and they did an excellent job. They took a topic that can be intimidating to the "normal" Domino developer, and blasted through the FUD, confusion, and techno-gloop that seems to envelop all Java development (not just Domino-centric stuff) with ease. Granted, this is way too deep a topic to cover in detail in just 2 hours, but they accomplished what they set out to do, and that is to introduce the experienced Domino developer to the "world of Java", while removing the technical "fear".

In addition, they made it FUN, which goes a long way to help learning. Kudos to these guys, this was an EXCELLENT session.
